HPMP Achievement and Goal Stage I (2011-2018): Total target of phasing out 164 ODP tonnes of HCFC (39 ODP tonnes of HCFC-22 and 126 ODP tonnes of HCFC-141b). Of this, (88 ODP tonnes) 53% is being phased out by UNIDO. Stage II (2016-2023): Total target of reaching complete phase out in the foam sector, i.e. reduction of 88 ODP tonnes of HCFCs. Of this, 56% (49 ODP tonnes) will be phased out by UNIDO. This will help the country reduce its total consumption of HCFC (162 tonnes) by 2022. Foam sector: Conversion from HCFC 141b to Cyclopentane • Conversion to alternative blowing agent (Cyclopentane) • Retrofitting of existing foam equipment requires explosion proof specifications, sensors, ventilations, etc. • Lower operating cost due to low cost of cyclopentane • Investment for safety due to the flammability • Tehran, Tabriz, Masshad, etc. 3

TVTOs (Technical Vocational Training Organizations) • 6 TVTO centers to have equipment needed for alternative refrigerants including hydrocarbons • Memorandum of Understanding between National Ozone Office and TVTOs to be signed • Civil work required in the TVTO facilities • UNIDO provide equipment • Training to be provided by UN Environment 4
