Our story start in a deep medival time, when Vladislaus II, Duke and King of Bohemia founded a Abbey of Strahov in 1143. From then on the Premonstratensians order started to built an amazing place near by the Prague Castle – the settlement of the Bohemian Kings.

In 15th and 16th century the Abbey was badly damaged by fire during the Hussite wars and it took more than 166 years to recover. With arrival of the abbot Jan Lohelius the Abbey was brought back in life. At that time the recent buildings of our hotel were erected along with hospital, garden and brewery.

Buildings of recent reception lobby and our Garden restaurant Senses were originally a stables and farm building. Just imagine how it might look....

But from the medieval time till today we made a huge progress. Of course, it was not always so easy. Building in year 2001 were in bad condition and this was a time when the refrubishment and modernization started.
