The humanitarian programme cycle • Is a coordinated series of actions undertaken to help prepare for, manage and deliver the humanitarian response • It consists of five elements coordinated in a seamless manner • is dependent on effective emergency preparedness, effective coordination with national/local authorities and humanitarian actors , and information management. 3 7th Annual PHT Regional Meeting
What is the HPC? • The HPC serves as a guide for all crises. • It is designed to revitalize the way in which humanitarian actors coordinate to meet the needs of people affected by disasters and conflict. 4 7th Annual PHT Regional Meeting
What’s new? 1. Prepare as much as possible before emergencies strike. 2. Plan based on evidence. 3. Set objectives early and ensure they drive the response. 4.
