Total enrollment of 367 in 19 classes ◦ 110 of these were enrolled for the second year ◦ 84 (27%) speak a primary language other than English at home ◦ 39 (about 11%) of children have an IEP Semcac Head Start Works!
Health and Dental: ◦ On Day 1, 329 children were up to date on immunizations. By the end of the year, 363, or 99%, were up to date. ◦ 349 (95%) children had a dental exam Semcac Head Start Works!

There were several areas where SEMCAC’s percentages surpassed the national averages and were even higher than our 2012 numbers. These include: ◦ Children who had a medical diagnosis and needed treatment who received it (100%) Children with an ongoing source of continuous, accessible health care (99.2%) ◦ Children with a completed dental exam (95%) ◦ Children who received dental treatment (86.4%) Semcac Head Start Works!
Huge gains were made in children meeting or exceeding widely-held developmental expectations. By the end of the year, this was true for: ◦ 100% in physical and literacy development ◦ 97.8% in cognitive ◦ 96.3% in language ◦ 95.6% in social/emotional ◦ 91.3% in mathematics Semcac Head Start Works!

The focus in math development through training and curriculum has paid off! ◦ Spring of 2013, 79% of 4-year-old children were meeting or exceeding WHE ◦ Spring of 2014, 86% of 4-year-old children were meeting or exceeding WHE Semcac Head Start Works!

More than 90% of parent survey responses say: ◦ “I better understand my child's development .” ◦ “They are supportive and helpful.” ◦ “Head Start staff is respectful.” ◦ “I can trust Head Start Staff.” Semcac Head Start Works!
The number of families who received the following services ◦ 107 for emergency/crisis intervention such as meeting immediate needs for food, clothing, or shelter ◦ 79 for parenting education ◦ 53 for housing assistance such as subsidies, utilities, repairs, etc. ◦ 24 for health education Semcac Head Start Works!
Total of 507 volunteers spent time in Head Start classrooms 303 of these volunteers (almost 60%) were current or former HS parents Semcac Head Start Works!
