Air Ambulance HEMS service • Partnership with Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance Northern Ireland to delivery the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) • Trauma Service Provision provided 365 days of the year, 7 days a week, 12 hours per day • 1-2 taskings per day • EC135 Helicopter can travel anywhere in Northern Ireland in circa 25 minutes • This service brings the hospital to the patient • Already being tasked daily, on average with over 1200 taskings

How and When HEMS dispatched ? Air Ambulance Paramedic is at NIAS Control Centre 999 1. Immediate dispatch 2. Interrogation 3. Crew Request
Once tasked HEMS can deliver * Consultant based advice * Advanced analgesia * Pre-hospital surgery * Pre-hospital anaesthetic * Critical care intervention Bringing the hospital ED to the patient

Derry City & Strabane District Council • Approx.1 person transported to hospital every 2 weeks Tasked to: Newbuildings, Drumahoe, Foreglen, Campsie, Maydown, Castlederg, Clady, Strabane, Derry City-Buncrana Road, Sion Mills, Bready, Claudy, Magheramason – Each patient’s family & Community have engaged in Fundraising activities. • Local Trauma Centre 2 helipads – Altnagelvin Area Hospital • Regular Refuelling at CODA
