Objective • Our objective is to safely reopen school for everyone starting September 8, 2020 through a hybrid model • The District will adhere to the recommendations from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and local health agencies • Our phased reopening plan has been vetted by Johns Hopkins University and Lehigh Valley Health Network

Initial Parent/Guardian Survey only yielded approximately 2,000 replies out of 12,000 students. • Option 1: I would LIKELY BE WILLING to send my child to school with the district taking appropriate precautions and limiting the number of students in school at any given time. • 56.16% • Option 2: I would LIKELY NOT BE WILLING to send my child to school with other children and would prefer online instruction, even if the district were to take precautions and limit the number of students present. • 21.41% • Option 3: I am UNDECIDED as to what I would be willing to do if the situation were to remain as it is now. • 22.42%

Cleaning/Sanitizing Safety Protocols • All cleaning and sanitizing of our schools will follow CDC and manufacturer guidelines • All high-touch surfaces will be cleaned/sanitized several times per day (door handles, light switches, desks, restrooms, etc.) • Water fountains will not be used • Sealed, one-time use water bottles will be permitted • Hand sanitizer will be available in common areas and classrooms • Appropriate hygiene must be followed with frequent hand washing • School buses and other transportation vehicles will be sanitized between each run • Lunchrooms will be cleaned/sanitized between each use

Social Distancing Safety Protocols • Classroom and learning spaces will allow for 6 feet of social distancing among students and staff whenever possible • Assigned seating will be utilized in each classroom, learning space, bus, other vehicle whenever possible • Faculty rooms and other common areas will function with limited capacity levels • Hallway traffic patterns will be adjusted to meet restriction of movement capabilities • Breakfast/lunch schedules will be adjusted to accommodate social distancing recommendations whenever possible • Recess or physical education classes will continue as long as activities limit physical touch and contact whenever possible • Transportation schedules will be adjusted accordingly

Student and Staff Health Safety Protocols • The District will utilize signs throughout the schools that promote protective measures • The District will proactively restrict non-essential visitors and volunteers • Hygiene education for all students and staff will be conducted frequently • Reminders of appropriate hygiene practices will be provided frequently

Classroom Safety Protocols • Appropriate procedures for movement through the classroom will be developed by each classroom teacher • Remaining seated • Walking through the room • Remaining socially distanced • Lining up • Masks or face shields will be used in the classroom whenever possible • Sharing of items (writing utensils, papers, personal items, etc.) will be prohibited • Electronic delivery of materials will be strongly encouraged • Proper hygiene reminders will be provided frequently • Musical instruments will be sanitized according to instructor guidelines • Recess or physical education classes will continue as long as activities limit physical touch and contact whenever possible

Transportation Safety Protocols • Students will be limited to two (2) students per seat • Siblings will be required to sit together • Students will be required to wear a mask or face shield while being transported to and from school on any District sponsored vehicle • Students will be required to face the front of the vehicle at all times • No sitting backwards or sideways in the seat • All drivers will be required to wear a mask or face shield while students are entering or exiting the vehicle • Windows will be open when weather permits • All District sponsored vehicles will be sanitized after each run

Food Service Safety Protocols • Breakfasts and lunches will be provided in the cafeteria or other open spaces allowing for social distancing of, at least, 6 feet • Whenever possible, meals will be pre-packaged to enhance contactless opportunities • All areas will be thoroughly cleaned after every use • Assigned seats will be utilized
