2019 NCSEA Board of Directors Election Hannah Roots Biography • Independent lawyer/consultant with focus on international child support • August 1996 to August 2017 - Managing Director of the Family Maintenance Enforcement Program for the province of British Columbia in Canada. • 2008-2009 - seconded to the Permanent Bureau in The Hague to write the Practical Handbook for Caseworkers on the 2007 Hague Convention. • Currently NCSEA’s Vice President of Reciprocity and chair of the International Subcommittee. • BA from McGill University, an LLB (JD) from the University of Alberta, and an MBA from Royal Roads.

In your own words, why are you running for the NCSEA Board? I have a deep commitment to NCSEA and its mission. I believe NCSEA can make a difference for all child support workers by promoting and supporting good child support policies and practices and also by providing education and networking opportunism for child support workers. I would like to continue to promote and encourage NCSEA’s involvement in child support internationally, and to continue to help NCSEA develop eLearning courses to provide new and more accessible professional development for child support professionals. 4
Describe what you will do to advance NCSEA as an organization 1. Support continuation of prudent financial management 2. Continue to expand NCSEA’s reach internationally 3. Continue to define and develop NCSEA’s eLearning program 5
Describe your vision of how you would help shape the future of child support !. Increase the membership of NCSEA so that it will remain financially viable and a valued organization in the child support community 2. Focus on delivering professional development that reflects the current and future challenges in child support both in terms of the delivery (eLearning) but also content (changing employment, changing technology etc.) 3. Support the efforts of NCSEA to address the current issues facing child support decision makers, with policy papers and thoughtful commentary on public and social policy areas touching on child support. 6
