Gustavii Stud Proven world class show jumping breeder and producer MAYBE THE BEST BRED MARE IN EUROPE? bred by the GUSTAVII STUD may now be for sale for the right price A broodmare from the best stallion in his time, Baloubet du Rouet out of Mirca, the full sister to Irco Mena and Marcoville. Irco Mena, who has proven to be a legendary sire and given comments from breeders such as “Irco Mena influence is possibly more than any other stallion alive or dead. “ “We waited about twenty years before an Irco Mena mare came to us. Horse is a Legend.“ “Well, Irco Mena may be dead 18 years but, with very few mares inseminated with his frozen semen, he is still doing the business!” BALIRCA Gii , 1998, chestnut, star, 170cm by BALOUBET DU ROUET out of MIRCA G by IRCO MARCO - MENELEK xx- BATTLE BURN xx (in foal to LARS IRCO G by Irco Mena out of Lars Imp G by Imperius xx) Due to her exceptional pedigree it was decided to keep Balirca as a broodmare. Baloubet du Rouet needs no presentation, he is probably the best Balirca Gii jumping stallion ever, having won World cup 3 years running and coming 2 nd in his 4 th start including getting a Olympic gold medal. Too many other winnings to mention. Mirca combined stud-duties (having had 10 foals) with competition, where she jumped international for about a year with Evelyn Blaton from Belgium. She was then placed in World Cup and International Grand Prix under the name Optiebeurs Mirca , competing for just a short time for the Schockemöhle stables. She was retired sound to breeding again, after this. Mirca is the full sister to Marcoville and Irco Mena , and proves Mirca the genetic value of this successful blood combination. Marcoville , was placed 6 th in the Olympic Games in Barcelona, also won Nations Cup for Sweden with her full brother Irco Mena on the team, and had a fantastic competition record with Maria Gretzer from Sweden.
Mirca is also full-sister to the Elite stallion Irco Mena , who has apart from winning Nations Cup for Sweden together with his full sister Marcoville, was competing first with owner/breeder Ann Gustavii and later with Royne Zetterman, before he tragically broke a leg and had to be put down at the age of 13. Irco Mena has been leading young horse sire in Sweden since 1995 for an unbroken record until the Swedish breeding society stopped making these listings and instead went over to BLUP, about 14 years later. Irco Mena also has the highest BLUP in Sweden for many years, together with his father Irco Marco. Irco Marco in his turn was leading sire amongst the older stallions for 17 years in a row, showing these stallions to be of exceptional quality. Irco Mena still has shown the high quality of this breeding line, and that he is very much in time with the need for today's courses, Irco Mena 763 even after being dead for 19 years now. He has been used sparingly via frozen semen but still had 2 progeny in the 2012 London Olympics, and both came out with medals, Wega was 2 nd in the individual eventing and Sultan was 3 rd in team jumping. Mirca ’ s mother the Irish Ballymena Park , had an outstanding Irish pedigree, of extremely rare bloodlines. Her full-brother Felton jumped Internationally for 9 years, won with Buddy Brown Gold Cup Philadelphia and Invitational in Tampa. He was No. 2 on World Cup list in America before having a serious accident and had to retire just before the World Finals. The sire Menelek xx was leading sire of jumpers in England and Ireland 2 years running and was 2nd 3 times. He also sired 2 Grand National winners: Rag Trade and Hello Dandy . The maternal sire Battle Burn xx was maybe the greatest sire of jumpers in Ireland ever, with international progeny like Boomerang , leading jumper in the world 3 years in a row, winner of Hickstead Derby 4 times, with rider Eddie Macken, and Lochinvar , 3 Team Gold in Eventing (incl. Olympic Games, Ind. Silver). Ballymena Park herself did not compete for long, before a serious virus infection made us put her into breeding. She only had 4 foals, before she tragically died in an accident. All her progeny were successful jumpers, the best being the three full sister and brothers, Mirca, Marcoville and Irco Mena, all being successful in International Grand Prix and World Cup. Pedigree : http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/balirca+gii Video : http://youtu.be/CFGMzBRfUmI
Balirca’s son Irco Balou Gii , is Licenced as a stallion with the AES in England. This son has a jumping ability that is truly impressive and very exceptional, and is maybe the best horse we have bred, but unfortunately sustained a back injury so has not competed yet. Her other foals have been retained for breeding. Irco Balou Gii Balirca Gii is in foal to a stallion, Lars Irco G , who died prematurely, got his leg kicked off, but who was approved as a stallion by Zangersheide in 1998. The judges liked him not only for his jumping and his type, but also for having a very interesting pedigree, that they said they were impressed by and would like to get hold of. He was then jumping for the Pessoa stables, after Nelson Pessoa saw him at our stud, and insisted that he would be allowed to manage and jump this stallion, and who he thought to have enormous potential. You can read more about this stallion on our website http://www.gustaviistud.com/stallions/lars-irco-g. The mare has a foal this year, that we would like to keep. She was inseminated on 21 June 2014 and last scanned in foal on Lars Irco G 20 July. We used this stallion (Lars Irco G) as we wanted to linebreed on the Irco Mena bloodlines, and Lars Irco G has given very impressive progeny. He gives light elastic movement, very good balance and super-quick reactions, very good technique and a temperament that is so willing to work, and to do what you ask them, ambitious, real triers and very sound. This is the same blood that is in the fabulous stallion Nick of Diamonds, ridden by Lesley Howard of America. The Lars Irco G choice of Lars Irco G was also guided by the fact that her son Irco Balou Gii, that had impressed us so much, also is a grand-son of Irco Mena. This shows that the combination of Balirca and a son to Irco Mena could have a bigger than normal chance of being another exceptional animal, so underlined why we chose just this stallion.
