Considerations • Anticipated Housing (see letter); Sent to PTO Presidents of affected campuses + social media • Long range planning for additional growth • Two campuses have lower enrollments than others (DDE, BCE) • Student transfers impact the numbers (more intra-district currently – students who live in the district)

  14. District’s Recommendation: • We recommend #2B because: – It leaves room for growth at RES where we anticipate more growth in the future, – It distributes the numbers more evenly, – It utilizes the facilities we have.

  15. Grandfather Considerations • Incoming 5 th grade and 8 th grade students (and their siblings for one year only) may remain at the campus they are currently attending, however, no CISD transportation will be available.

  16. Intra-district Transfers • Transfer window is open currently. • Form is sent to the home campus and the home campus sends to the next campus. • Final approval of all transfers is at the discretion of the Associate Superintendent and will be based on space. • Transfer deadline is May 1, 2018.

  17. What’s Next? • Community Meetings (March) • Growing Forward: Boundary Update page to be added to the CISD website • Survey opened: March 23 – March 25, 2018 (CISD website) • Board meeting: March 27, 2018

  18. Board Involvement • March: BOT Meeting to Present Community Input and Final Recommendation for Boundary Changes • Board of Trustees will vote to approve or decline proposed changes • Families are informed if changes are approved
