SHS Parent Organizations • School-wide, Parent-led organizations: • There are two parent-led, school wide organizations that work together to support the students, teachers, and families of Sammamish High School. They are the PTSA and STEPS. • PTSA : Parent-Teacher-Student Association . Part of the largest nationwide child advocacy organization. PTSA runs the staff appreciation events, ACT/SAT Test Prep Classes, Reflections, and coordinates legislative advocacy. • Email: ptsa.board@sammamishtotems.org • STEPS: Sammamish Totems’ Enrichment Program Supporters. A grant awarding, fundraising organization. STEPS fundraisers, awards grants to SHS programs, clubs, and athletics, administers the concessions sales at SHS sports events, and Spirit Wear. • Email: steps.board@sammamishtotems.org

  18. Pass The Hat • PTSA & STEPS are kicking off their major fundraiser of the year tonight. These funds provide: • School grants • Parent education • Family and community engagement events • Staff appreciation events • Forms will be available at all school entrances, Commons, and in front of the PAC. • Donations can also be made online: http://sammamishtotems.weebly.com/donate.html

  19. PTSA Join PTSA today! • PTSA…it’s not just for elementary school. And it doesn't mean that you have to volunteer! Join the PTSA and add your voice today! $15-individual/$25-dual membership (2 people)/$10-staff • Last year Sammamish had 225 members. This year our goal is 300! Help us smash our goal! Corporate Matching • If you work for a company that matches donations or reimburses for volunteer hours, please look for “Sammamish Totems Enrichment Program” when you are selecting the recipient organization. Connection Opportunities • For a current list of Volunteer Openings, please stop by the PTSA/STEPS table just outside the PAC. We also have laminated bell schedules, as well as other useful hand-outs. We’d love to meet you!
