God’s New You Bringing glory to the God that created you
• 1 Corinthians 1:31 “…Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” • James 1:17 “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” • Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
That we aren’t estactic about this indicates 2 struggles: • We don’t believe that the results of what God did are really for us, or… • We struggle to receive because we still want control and status due to pride.
2 Questions • Who can make this claim of being God’s handiwork or workmanship? • What kind of work are these people capable of?
John 15: 1-11 Ephesians 4:1-3
“The land we passed through is exceedingly good. If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land that flows with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Numbers 13-14 Their protections is gone, but the Reaching the Promise Land Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.” Numbers 14:7-9
Since we are his handiwork or workmanship: “Whatever you do, work • Relationships at it with all your heart, as • Work working for the Lord, … It is the Lord Christ you • Leisure are serving.” Colossians 3:23a-24
