What is the GS Minsk Hub We are part of Global Shapers Community, an Initiative of the World Economic Forum, an authoritative international organization best known for its Annual Meetings in Davos-Klosters. Global Shapers Community is a network of Hubs led by young people who are exceptional in their potential, achievements and drive to contribute to their communities. We promote dialogue, action, and change.

  3. Our Mission Empowering youth to bridge global knowledge with local challenges is the GS Minsk Hub’s mission. We uphold Belarus’ engagement in regional and global development processes and work on improving the country’s image in the international community. The Global Shapers Minsk Hub considers educated youth a driver of positive changes in Belarus.

  4. Our Values ❖ Being open to cooperation with civil society, business, government authorities and international community; ❖ Personal commitment to the Minsk Hub’s mission; ❖ Serving the interests of local community; ❖ High personal and moral integrity.

Basic Facts ❖ The GS Minsk Hub was set up in 2015; ❖ Twelve members of an average age of 30, see our team. ❖ We represent different walks of life including policy research, startup development community, IT, social and economic regional development, journalism, architecture, etc. ❖ Our EdCamp project was selected for the final of Social Weekend 8 and was nominated for the “Initiative of the Year 2017” award by the Assembly of Pro-Democracy NGOs of Belarus.

Our Priorities ❖ Establishing an independent arena for communication between business community, civil society, Belarusian authorities and international community; ❖ Adopting best international practices to contribute to Belarus’ development and upholding Belarus’ engagement in regional and global development processes; ❖ Realizing projects aimed at improving the country’s image in the international community.

Our Achievements ❖ We assisted with organizing the first Erasmus+ youth training course in Belarus, bringing 30 participants from five countries; ❖ We organized the first EdCamp (un)conference in Belarus bringing together 80 teachers from all over the country to share their best practices; ❖ We promoted Belarus’ role as a contributor to regional security the 46th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

  8. First Erasmus+ Youth Training Course in Belarus ❖ Topic: My role as a global citizen; ❖ The training course gathered 30 young professionals from Italy, Czech Republic, Georgia, Slovenia, Hungary, and Belarus; ❖ Its participants attended lectures on international relations and migration, developed their debating skills on the present-day international challenges in the simulation activity and prepared short videos on tolerance and global citizenship concept.

EdCamp,(Un)Conference for School Teachers EdCamp, as a format of meetings ❖ designed for professional development of school teachers, originated in 2010 and since then spread to a dozen of countries around the world. EdCamp allows its guests to come up ❖ with their topics and choose the most interesting ones. First EdCamp Belarus was organized by ❖ the GS Minsk Hub in cooperation with the Belarusian School Society in October 2017 and gathered nearly 80 school teachers.

Art and Media Against Gender Stereotypes project of Minsk Hub was among the 5 ❖ winners out of nearly 100 submissions received from Hubs all over the world the grant is awarded by the World ❖ Economic Forum and Procter & Gamble the project will be implemented in 2019 ❖ and will contribute to changed perception of women's abilities and role in the society using media channels and art. Art and media will be used as tools to combat gender stereotypes.

  13. Minsk Hub Initiative for Davos 2016 In January 2016, Hub’s member Denis Kolga ❖ participated in the WEF Annual Meeting in Davos. The GS Minsk Hub elaborated a proposal ❖ titled Minsk Hub of Peace to be set up in Belarus as a long-lasting international platform under the aegis of the Global Shapers Community / WEF, which would deal with the resolution of conflicts which affect post-Soviet countries. Minsk Hub’s essay on this topic, along with ❖ articles from other countries, was distributed among 2,500 Davos-2016 guests and published at the WEF Web page.
