EXCELLENCE IN ACTION: SEAHAWKS SAVING LIVES HARRIS MUHLSTEIN TIM LEWIS ANDREW WILLIAMS SEAN CLARK MarineQuest School Campus Recreation Program Coordinator Associate Director On May 10, UNCW alumnus and MarineQuest On June 18, a UNCW student collapsed on the basketball court in School Program Coordinator Harris Muhlstein the Student Recreation Center. Associate Director Tim Lewis and was on the beach teaching a class at Fort Fisher two student employees, Andrew Williams and Sean Clark , when he noticed three swimmers caught in a responded to the scene, administered CPR and used a defibrillator riptide. Twenty minutes later, using his ocean to revive the student before EMTs arrived. Medical staff at the lifeguard skills, Harris had returned all three hospital reviewed the AED readout and credit the three Student young men safely to shore, including one who Recreation Center employees with saving the student’s life. was transported by EMS and recovered. 25
