Why do we Need Change at GGC? • Only 3% of girls in Canada are members of GGC • We have gone from 250,000 members to 95,000 members • Canadian mosaic has changed but we don’t reflect it • The world has changed at a rapid pace; girls lives are changing at a rapid pace; and GGC is not perceived to have made that change • How do we know this (Brand Map) Millennial Parents 3

GGC is important for every girl in Canada We’ve always had a secret sauce to empower girls: • girl-only • woman role-models • safe space Now we’ve added a NEW ingredient: • girl-driven (choice, voice, action) i.e. Girls First The Good News is: We KNOW girls and parents want girl empowerment. We are unique in delivering girl empowerment. 4

  18. Girls First is girl-driven! The girl- driven approach is the “how” of the new Girls First program. The girl-driven approach means that girls are in the driver’s seat, choosing what they want to get out of Guiding. • Girls have the freedom to pursue their interests • Girl issues are heard and taken seriously • Girls advocate for their interests in GGC and engage meaningfully in the wider community 18

  19. How do we achieve a girl-driven approach? Female Role Models: Our passionate volunteer Guiders empower girls with new discoveries and experiences. Girl-Only Safe Space: A place where girls can be themselves as they go on new adventures with new friends. Girls First Platform: Our new online program library is where girls find activities that interest them, see what’s coming up in future meetings and explore their badges and awards! 19
