  7. OUR ACTIVITIES BOILER EPC DIVISION Our clients trust our industrial boiler expertise in the execution of their turn-key industrial boiler EPC projects but we also support our clients as a boiler and energy conversion expert in many other fields. Categories of activity: A. Turn-key EPC projects 1. HOT WATER boilers 2. STEAM boilers, using : I. FOSSIL FUELS II. FLUE GASES III. WASTE IV. RENEWABLES V. OTHER HEAT EXCHANGE SOLUTIONS B. Maintenance & Reparations C. Consultancy & Studies D. Pressure parts & mechanical equipment E. Spare parts & instrumentation THERMIC 7 GROUP

  8. OUR ACTIVITIES A.1. TURN-KEY EPC PROJECTS - HOT WATER BOILERS Hot water boilers THERMIC has more than 600 references of hot water boilers in Europe. These boilers are usually installed on turn-key basis and are watertubes. THERMIC has installed more than 600 hot water boilers that are typically located in big building complexes or industrial sites such as: • Airports • Big hospitals • Universities • Banks • Military installations • Large offices towers such as the WTC –TOWERS in Belgium, Antwerp Tower,… • Industrial production & process sites (tech, FMCG,…) • Car Manufacturers THERMIC 8 GROUP

  9. OUR ACTIVITIES A.2. TURN-KEY EPC PROJECTS - STEAM BOILERS Thermic’s steam boilers can be categorized by energy source from which the heat is extracted to generate steam: I. FOSSIL FUELS II. FLUE GASES III. WASTE IV. RENEWABLES & V. OTHER HEAT EXCHANGE SOLUTIONS THERMIC 9 GROUP

  10. OUR ACTIVITIES A.2. TURN-KEY EPC PROJECTS - STEAM BOILERS INTRODUCTION Two very different designs of steam boilers exist. Based on the specific client technical needs (energy source, pressure, temperature, ramp rate, …) and financial characteristics (apex, opex,…) Thermic provides its clients with fire-tube , water-tube and/or hybrid boilers. Firetube boilers & Hybrids Typical examples: • 5 TPH – 8 Bar • 15 TPH – 12 Bar • 20 TPH – 20 Bar • 30 TPH – 30 Bar • 60 TPH – 30 Bar Watertube boilers Typical examples: • 15 TPH – 20 Bar • 20 TPH – 25 Bar • 30 TPH – 30 Bar • 50 TPH – 65 Bar • 80 TPH – 70 Bar • 100 TPH – 80 Bar • 125 TPH – 125 Bar THERMIC 10 GROUP

  11. OUR ACTIVITIES A.2.I TURN-KEY EPC PROJECTS – STEAM BOILERS USING FOSSIL FUELS The main fossil fuels used are: natural gas, fuel oil, heavy oil and coal Watertube boilers using fossil fuels THERMIC 11 GROUP

  12. OUR ACTIVITIES A.2.II TURN-KEY EPC PROJECTS – STEAM BOILERS USING FLUE GASES The main flue gases used are the ones from industrial processes, gas turbines, etc. These boilers are often referred to as HRSG – Heat Recuperation Steam Generation boilers. The steam boilers behind gas turbine gases in cogeneration units are also called CHP boilers. Thermic realized more than 25 of such CHP boilers . Watertube boilers using flue gases THERMIC 12 GROUP

  13. OUR ACTIVITIES A.2.III TURN-KEY EPC PROJECTS – STEAM BOILERS USING WASTE The main waste energy source used is municipal waste. Other waste sources are industrial waste and hazardous waste. Watertube boilers using municipal waste Thermic was among the first to design and build these boilers behind municipal and industrial waste incinerators. On export markets we work with local specialized workshops acting as our licensees. We have more than 150 references in several countries with a majority built in France. THERMIC 13 GROUP

  14. OUR ACTIVITIES A.2.III TURN-KEY EPC PROJECTS – STEAM BOILERS USING WASTE Watertube boilers using municipal waste THERMIC 14 GROUP

  15. OUR ACTIVITIES A.2.IV & V TURN-KEY EPC PROJECTS – STEAM BOILERS USING RENEWABLES & OTHER The main renewable energy sources used today are, amongst others, biomass and biogas . Watertube boilers using wastewood (confidential ref) The following types of biomass fuels can be distinguished: • woody fuels (waste wood, pellets, …) • forestry residues • mill residues • agricultural residues • urban wood • yard wastes • crops • animal waste • animal manure • … Other heat exchange solutions such as gas/gas heat exchangers (air pre- heaters) and dryers can also be used separately or in combination with steam boilers or other energy transformation processes. Thermic’s strength is to comply each time to our client’s very customized and complex requests. THERMIC 15 GROUP

  16. OUR ACTIVITIES A.3 MAINTENANCE & REPARATIONS Thermic’s boiler EPC division is supported by its industrial I&M division that has motivated and dedicated teams available to perform a lot of diverse industrial works & interventions at our clients Maintenance & Reparations The main assignments that are performed comprise: • Boiler refitting • Dearator redesign • Retrofitting passes • Superheater redesign • Retubing • Refractory works • New equipments • Piping work • Leak searches and repair • Studding and cladding • Chemical cleaning THERMIC 16 GROUP

  17. OUR ACTIVITIES A.4 CONSULTANCY & STUDIES We partner with our clients and understand their goals. As a boiler expert , we regularly consult our clients on their specific needs and challenge them in our fields of expertise. As the lifespan of boilers is typically long, most clients are not familiar with the procurement of these type of installations and don’t always have the energy transformation and boiler expertise in-house . Consultancy & Studies We typically perform following types of consultancies and studies: • Boiler Load studies (minimization) • Remnant Life Assessments • Basic Designs (mechanical, thermal, civil & electrical) • Detailed Engineering • Feasibility studies • Site assessments • Comparative studies (WT vs FT) & benchmarks • Energy Efficiency & fuel saving studies • Performance & upgrade assessments • System improvement • Instrumentation and controls • Air pollution controls • Capacity enhancement assessments • Fuel conversion & firing system upgrade assessments • Piping design consultancy (in collaboration with I&M division) • Emmission control THERMIC 17 GROUP

  18. OUR ACTIVITIES A.5 PRESSURE PARTS & MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT The boiler and boilers parts are designed by Thermic and fabricated by Thermic or a licensed partner under the supervision of Thermic. Other examples are: Superheaters , Economizers, gas/gas heat exchangers , dryers , De-aerators , Pressure stabilizing units , Piping & Valves , Stacks, Steel structures , Soot blowers , Boiler Cleaning systems , Beri-mobiles , Diverters , Control & Regulation , Burners , Water treatment and other annex equipment.
