SIMASEED ( APPROVED RECENTLY ) • The Project aims to contribute to protect the biodiversity in the Sicily-Malta Nature 2000 sites and to improve the conservation of wild flora mainly those at risk of extension • Partners: University of Malta Universita’ degli studi di Catania Reggione Siciliana Assessorato regionale dell’ Agricoltura, dello Sviluppo Rurale e della Pesca Mediterranea Ministry for Gozo • Budget allocation Ministry for Gozo: € 331,629.00 • Duration: 36 months • Ministry for Gozo Role: MGOZ will host a new seed bank in an existing structure acquiring basic equipment

BESS ( APPROVED RECENTLY ) • The Project’s target is the monitoring of the small ‘pocket’ beaches in Malta and Sicily and the relative monitoring of the coastal erosions with respect to the particularities of these beaches • Partners: University of Malta Universita’ degli studi di Messina Universita’ degli studi di Palermo Istituto Nazzionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia Ministry for Gozo • Budget allocation Ministry for Gozo: € 235,500.00 • Duration: 30 months • Ministry for Gozo role: The Ministry for Gozo will cover the communication aspect and the scientific responsibility of the project on Gozo

HOW CAN THE DIRECTORATE OF PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION MGOZ ASSIST? • Assist in the research for partners for a specific initiative / proposal • Offer expertise / assistance during the implementation of the project • Act as a liaison between the Beneficiary and the Managing authority
