Overview and Requested Action Overview • At the May 19, 2020 Board of Commissioners Briefing, staff provided an update regarding the deterioration of the access road to the County- owned, GE-leased facility at 502 Sweeten Creek. • Since 2013, the access road has deteriorated due to normal use and requires repair in order to prevent interrupted operations at the GE facility. • This presentation is an update to the Board on the status of the road, road repair design, and next steps. Requested Action • No requested action at this time. 2
Update • Since the May 19 meeting, staff worked with an engineer and COA to design a long-term road repair solution (see next slide). • Staff solicited bids and received four bids for the installation of the proposed solution. • Of the bids received, one was non-compliant based on the submission deadline. • The remaining bids ranged from $119K to $181K . • Per procurement requirements, the bid will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. • General Services has funds available in the current FY20 budget to award this contract. 3

COA Resolutions Both resolutions state, "this parcel will be assembled into the City's existing right of way at Sweeten Creek Industrial Park“ and “thereby facilitate improved access into the GE Aviation facility on Buncombe County owned property at 502 Sweeten Creek Industrial Park." 9
