RICHLAND COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE FY 2020-2021 GENERAL FUND BUDGET o When the first State reductions started in FY 2009, the Base Student Cost (BSC) was $2,578. o In FY 2011 the BSC went to a low of $1,625 which was at FY 1995 level.

RICHLAND COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE FY 2020-2021 GENERAL FUND BUDGET o FY 2019 BSC was scheduled to be $2,485 which is about at the FY 2008 level. o The current funding level for BSC from the State should be $3,093 for FY 2020. o See chart for the funding over the last ten years.

RICHLAND COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE FY 2020-2021 GENERAL FUND BUDGET The priorities for FY 2021 will be: o Expand the Language Immersion Program o Increase Pre-K Classes o Increase Teachers Salaries

RICHLAND COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE FY 2020-2021 GENERAL FUND BUDGET Some early budget info from the legislature for FY 2021 o Step increase for Teachers o Also, 5% salary schedule adjustment for teachers o Other options are being discussed as well o Increase for retirement 1% - employer share o The above increases amount to about $10 million

RICHLAND COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE FY 2020-2021 GENERAL FUND BUDGET BUDGET PROCESS FOR FY 2021 Richland One will continue to implement Zero Based Budgeting (ZBB) o Each school and department will justify all amounts for FY 2021 o Each school will receive an allocation of staff and component budget based on student population o Everything above that will have to be justified o Each department will have to justify all Full Time Equivalents (FTEs) and all component budget amounts
