Tasks that should already be accomplished • Decide on communication tools • Determine who will run your social media campaign (staff, consultant, volunteer, etc.) • Decide if your organization will attend or host an event on Giving Tuesday • Work on your “thank you” plan for donors for day-of and post- GivingTuesday • Create board task list and assign to members
Tasks that should already be accomplished • Send invites to day-of events (if having one) • Schedule key meetings with donors (pre-commitments) • Begin talking about your involvement in GivingTuesday at meetings and events. • Bring postcards with you to leave in office lobbies, coffee shops, etc. • Continue to implement your communications plan (emails, social media posts, etc.) • It’s not too late!! Three Weeks Out – Expand Promotions • Prepare for Marketing Blitz • Customize email templates and schedule e-blasts to go out • Finalize social media schedule and content • Finalize partnerships with businesses • Contact local media (press release, op-ed) • Finalize your day-of plan for outreach, reporting and celebrating
Two Weeks Out – Heavy Marketing Begins • Accelerate communications • Weekly drip email goes out with campaign highlights and action steps for ambassadors • Make targeted phone calls to donors • Distribute fliers to businesses in your area • Host your kickoff event (if having one) to talk to community/ donors about Giving Tuesday • Update social with “2 weeks to go” messaging
One Week Out – Heavy Marketing Continues • Communications Countdown! • Continue social media presence • Remind Board of roles (outreach, sending emails, etc) • Finalize day-of event plans (if applicable) • Finalize day-of roles and staffing plan • Schedule social media posts • Highlight and challenges or matches you have • TEST YOUR DONATION PAGE- do a test run
Day Of – GivingTuesday!!!! • Kick off with a bang! Have a few donors ready to give at midnight!! • Check in with all board members and ambassadors to make sure they implement your plan • Be active ALL DAY on social media • Thanks donors and volunteers • Attend any GivingTuesday events
Day After- You Made It!!! • Breathe!!! • Celebrate!!!!! • Continue to implement your plan of thanking donors • Continue data collection • Connect with those who didn’t give • Inform your supporters on your accomplishments/goals
