May 2018 Family Survey Administration Process • Online and phone survey for 12 families only – Tuesday, May 1st: Pre-notification phone call to all families – Tuesday, May 1 st : First email to all families (primary email) – Thursday, May 3 rd : Second email to non-responding families (primary and secondary email address) – Friday, May 4 th : Phone call to 3 non-responding families – Monday, May 7 th : Second phone call to 2 non-responding families • 11/12 families responded (91.7%)
Online Survey Wording At the April 24th WCSD Board of Trustees meeting, the Board requested that a new survey be administered to all Gerlach K-12 families about whether they would like to move Gerlach K-12 School from a 5-day school week to a 4-day school week. The WCSD Office of Accountability is asking for you to vote on this important issue. No one will be able to trace your vote back to you. These votes will be compiled and presented at the May 8th WCSD Board of Trustees meeting by the Office of Accountability and used to help make a determination about whether Gerlach K-12 School should move to this new schedule. Please select your schedule preference. • I would like Gerlach K-12 school to change to a 4-day school schedule. • I would like Gerlach K-12 school to stay on a 5-day school schedule.
Phone Script Hello, Ms./Mr.___________ My name is _________, and I am the _______________ in the WCSD Office of Accountability. I am calling to see if you wanted to provide your vote about the Gerlach K-12 School should change their schedule from a 5-day school week to a 4-day school week. Is this a good time for you? Great. I am now going to read a brief script to you so that we make sure everyone who votes by phone receives the same information and the process is consistent. At the April 24 th WCSD Board of Trustees meeting, the Board requested that a new survey be administered to all Gerlach K-12 families about whether they would like to move Gerlach K-12 School from a 5-day school week to a 4-day school week. Even though I know who you are, when I record your vote, I want to let you know that no one will be able to trace your vote back to you. Your name will not be recorded with your vote. These votes will be compiled and presented at the May 8 th WCSD Board of Trustee meeting by the Office of Accountability and used to help make a determination about whether Gerlach K-12 School should move to this new schedule. I am now going to ask you to vote for your preferred option. Accountability also used household id vs. family name
