  6. OPENING PRAYER Dear Jesus, We lift up to you everything that frightens and disturbs us. In your name we pray. Amen.

  7. GOSPEL LEARNING In today’s Gospel from St. Matthew, the disciples go out to sea on a stormy night. The wind and the waves frighten them. Jesus comes toward the rocky boat. He calms the forces of the raging sea. Peter comes out of the boat and starts walking toward Jesus, but when the winds come he gets afraid and starts to sink. Jesus reaches out his hand and Peter grasps it.

“Lord!

The Gospel of the Lord. Source: The New Testament Pinoy Version Catholic Edition

  12. LIVING THE GOSPEL 1. SITUATION What are the things that frighten and disturb you? Who are the people that help calm the storms in your life?

  13. LIVING THE GOSPEL 2. GOSPEL THEME In the gospel today, Peter was focused and walked toward Jesus. All went well until he looked at the storm. The same is true for us. If we stay focused on Jesus, we will be strong. It's when we get distracted by adversity that we begin to sink.

  14. LIVING THE GOSPEL 3. GOSPEL CHALLENGE As a family, make a conscious effort to avoid distractions sometime this week. Pick a time when you can all be together in a peaceful setting and offer one another a peaceful gesture or words of support.

  15. TRIVIA: REVELATION Out of love, God reveals God’s self to us. God wants us to know and love God. The word revelation means to make known something that is unknown. God is so much more than we can ever imagine. We could never come to know God on our own. Revelation is God’s gift of making God’s presence known to us. The Catholic Church believes that God is most fully revealed in Jesus Christ.

  16. CLOSING PRAYER Dear Jesus, You are the King of Peace! Grant us the grace to focus our gaze onto you. In your name we pray. Amen. Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be...

  17. Suggested Family Practices: 1. Attending Sunday mass 2. Family Gospel Reflection 3. Family Movie Night (FORMED Movies) 4. Family Monthly Confession
