Assessment • Webwork : starting week 2, online homework assignments every Thursday on WebWork, due on Friday at 11 pm of the following week. 8 assignments in total. • Quizzes : 9 quizzes, one on each Thursday’s discussion (see the syllabus). The lowest quiz grade will be dropped. There will be no make-up quiz. • Midterms : there will be 2 midterms during regular class time : • Midterm 1 will take place on Monday, October 17. • Midterm 2 will take place on Monday, November 7. Except in the event of an emergency, there will no make-up midterm exam. • Final exam : on Saturday, December 3 between 1:30 and 3:30 pm, common to all Math 2A classes.

  6. Final grade The final grade will be computed according to the following distribution : Course requirement Percentage of grade Final exam 40 % Midterm 1 20 % Midterm 2 20 % Quizzes 10 % Webwork 10 % The overall course grades will not be curved.

  7. Suggested homework problems • In the web page you can find a list of suggested exercises, • Each Monday, problems from the book will be assigned, covering the sections that will be treated during the week. • Not collected or graded, but strongly recommended. • Quizzes and exams will be based on similar exercises. • If you need some help to solve these problems, do not hesitate to go to the tutoring center, post your questions in the piazza webpage of the class, or contact me or Hongseok.
