EUROPEAN REAL ESTATE CONVENTION 2009 The European Council of Real Estate Professions (CEPI) and the Chambre immobilière du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg are organising the General Assemblies of CEPI from 18 to 21 November 2009, in partnership with the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce. On this occasion, Friday 20 November will be dedicated to an international seminar, organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy and External Trade, on the theme: «The residential real estate market in the «Grande Région» and in Europe : trends and opportunities » ! PRESENTATION OF THE EUROPEAN COUNCIL OF REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONALS Created in 1990, the European Council of Real Estate Professionals (CEPI) is an international non-profit association (aisbl) headquartered in Brussels. It brings together more than 200,000 real estate professionals throughout Europe. CEPI's mission is to support European and cross-border property transactions by developing the work and activities of real estate professionals with the interests of the consumer in mind. PRESENTATION OF THE CHAMBRE IMMOBILIERE DU GRAND-DUCHE DE LUXEMBOURG Founded in 1971, the Chambre immobilière du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg (CIGDL) is a non-profit Luxemburg association, representing the various professions of the real estate sector: real estate agents, promoters, property managers/management agents of co-ownership. The members of the association commit to offer a quality service and to implement any real estate operations to the whole satisfaction of their clients. The CIGDL ensures its members the exclusivity of membership in the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) which consists of nearly a million professionals of all real estate sectors from more than 48 countries. The CIGDL is an active member of CEPI (the European Council of Real Estate Professions), of CEAB (the European Confederation of Property Managers), the presidency of which is at present ensured by Luxembourg, and of EPAG (the European Property Agents Group). Since January 1st, 2009, the CIGDL is a member of the CLC (Luxembourg Trade Confederation), and benefits from important logistic support: notably a secretariat and head office. ITS MISSIONS • ensure high quality education; • support an intensive exchange between professionals of the sector; • respect the business ethics of the profession; • defend the material and moral interests of its members; • collect and diffuse any new legislation related to real estate professions; • provide information on legislation and practices governing the national real estate market; • supervise applicants for a business licence in the field of the real estate professions with training in business management and training specific to the real estate professions.
PRESENTATION DU PROJET The European Council of Real Estate Professionals meets twice a year, at the invitation of a member association, to elaborate common projects and discuss the defence of the interests of professionals in a market with strong cross-border growth. After Helsinki, Stockholm and Florence, the professionals will meet in Luxembourg for the European Real Estate Convention 2009.
