Applying for places • Places must be booked via ETF online booking system • There is a fee for all courses – usually £100 for 1-day programmes • Courses can be run in-house on a similar basis to the maths programme
English Enhancement Programme • 2 nd year: now a 3-day course • next one starts 19/1 in Bromsgrove (and then 10/2, 25/2 ) Aims to: • Develop delegates in the skills required for both current GCSE English Language and the new specification • Develop engaging and motivating lessons based on sound pedagogy for post-16 education
Level 5 for teachers of GCSE English re-sits Similar information for the maths course: • currently running in Birmingham: 5 days + online group participation • develops the subject knowledge and subject-specific pedagogy required to support learners who have not achieved a good pass in GCSE English Language at school • focuses on the new GCSE

English Vocational Revitalisers 1-day modules aimed at vocational teachers developing English within vocational areas: • Generic • Childcare and Health and Social Care • Open context (for practitioners from a range of different vocational areas) • Bespoke (tailored to a vocational area of your choosing) • Secure Estates
Revitalisers: • Available in-house on a similar pricing model to the maths Aim to: • help vocational practitioners to identify and develop English embedded in their subject area • introduce techniques vocational practitioners can use to develop their learners’ confidence and skills. • help learners improve their English, at the same time as developing vocational skills • focus on reading, writing and speaking skills
English workshops and webinars to support English teaching at Entry levels and L1 /L2 • For tutors and support workers who deliver Stepping Stone Entry Level English qualifications and Functional Skills who want to develop their own personal English skills and improve their delivery • Aims to identify the skills learners (and teachers) have problems with and tackle them using interactive and other resources Contact RSL for more details
