“For God has shut up all in disobedience that He might show mercy to all.” Rom. 11:32
“I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.” 12:1 The mercy of God displays the:
1. INFINITE DEPTHS WHICH AMAZE . Vs. 33 “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!” vs. 33
“The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For He knows how weak we are…” Ps. 103:8-13 (NLT)
“In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Col. 2:3 “No, for all the nations of the world are but a drop in the bucket. They are nothing more than dust on the scales. He picks up the whole earth as though it were a grain of sand. All the wood in Lebanon’s forests and all Lebanon’s animals would not be enough to make a burnt offering worthy of our God. The nations of the world are worth nothing to him. In his eyes they count for less than nothing — mere emptiness and froth.” Isa. 40:15 -17 (NLT)
2. INARGUABLE DEFICIENCIES WHICH HUMBLE . Vs. 34-35 “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor? Or who has first given to Him that it might be paid back to him again?” vs. 34 -35
“Brothers, look at what you were when God called you…God did this so that no man can brag before him. It is God who has made you part of Christ Jesus. Christ has become wisdom for us from God. Christ is the reason we are right with God and have freedom from sin; Christ is the reason we are holy. So, as the Scripture says, ‘If a person brags, he should brag only about the Lord.’” 1 Cor. 1:26, 29-31 (ICB) “But may it never be that I should boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ…” Gal. 6:14
3. INCOMPARABLE WORTH WHICH STIRS . “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.” vs. 36
“Worthy art Thou, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou didst create all things, and because of Thy will they existed, and were created.” Rev. 4:11 “For even if there are so called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords, yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.” 1 Cor. 8:5 -6
“Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus…Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Tim. 1:13-17 (NIV) “Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.” Ps. 115:1 (NIV)
