Structural and Operational Changes Implemented or scheduled changes include: • Membership access for all College of Marin students (implemented) • Discontinuing the membership fee or changing it to be optional (scheduled) • Community Education and noncredit courses that are designed to address the needs of Marin County’s older adult population, designated as Emeritus College (EC) courses, will be offered at a discounted rate to all students, and will not be linked to student organization membership (scheduled) November 19, 2019

Support Moving Forward • ESCOM the program and ESCOM the student organization have closely collaborated for over 45 years. • College of Marin is committed to continuing to support the strong connection between the program and the student organization. • The College is hopeful that ultimately the changes will foster both the vibrant community within the ESCOM program, as well as the vibrant community and activities of the ESCOM/Emeritus student organization for years to come.   6. Support Moving Forward • Recognizing the challenges that these changes will bring for ESCOM the student organization, the District will provide ESCOM with $15,000 per year for five years following implementation of these changes to allow ESCOM to transition more smoothly. November 19, 2019

  7. Next Steps • Meeting with ESCOM’s Focus Group planned for January 2020 • Continuing discussions with ESCOM and its Focus Group • Updating materials and processes prior to implementation of the scheduled changes • Implementation of scheduled changes on July 1, 2020 November 19, 2019
