  11. SOLAR ROADMAP (2017) FUTURE OF PV INTEGRATION PV in the built environment, on water, VLS in infrastructures, and in agriculture based on available area 2017: 2,6 GWp 2023: 11 GWp 2030: 50 GWp 2050: 237 GWp IEA PVPS Task 1 Meeting, Caux, April 2019 8/4/2019 11

  12. NATIONAL PERSPECTIVE ENERGY AND SPACE How and where exactly to integrate PV systems in the Dutch landscape? ? See National Perspective Energy & Space: http://www.nrglab.net/?p=2893 IEA PVPS Task 1 Meeting, Caux, April 2019 8/4/2019 12

  13. CONSUMER PERCEPTION FROM SOLAR TREND REPORT 2019 Preferences for large scale application of PV systems by Dutch citizens: (1) on roofs, (2) on sea, (3) on fields, compared to their preference for wind parks on land: 1 2 3 IEA PVPS Task 1 Meeting, Caux, April 2019 8/4/2019 13

  14. ENERGY AGREEMENT AND ISSUES WITH GAS 2013 Energy Agreement signed by 47 organizations Bottom-up approach by consensus, so-called Polder Model. Content/Targets: 1. Reduction of energy usage of 1.5% /year 2. Per 2020, a total of 100 PJ (27 TWh) energy savings 3. RE production target 14% in 2020 and 16% in 2023 4. Employment of 15,000 FTE Read more at https://www.energieakkoordser.nl/ IEA PVPS Task 1 Meeting, Caux, April 2019 8/4/2019 14

  15. EXISTING SOLAR STIMULATION TOOLS - Net-metering (until 2020) - SDE+ (in Dutch: Stimulering Duurzame Energieproductie) is an operating grant. Subsidy for unprofitable part renewable energy - CAPEX-subsidy on solar thermal systems - Local energy cooperations - ZIP-code rose regulation = major reduction on energy tax (which is >50% of kWh-price) for solar-PV production within your own and adjacent ZIP-code See also: https://english.rvo.nl/subsidies-programmes/sde IEA PVPS Task 1 Meeting, Caux, April 2019 8/4/2019 15

  18. KLIMAAT AKKOORD: CLIMATE AGREEMENT 27 June 2017 an official climate law: 49% less CO2-emissions in 2030 (with respect to 1990) 95% less CO2-emissions in 2050 (with respect to 1990) Resulting in so-called climate tables which define future targets, measures and regulations. At present a ‘hot’ topic, because these discussions are in a final stage. In total 100 participating organizations are involved (Polder Model) . PV ambition present in 3 climate tables: Built Environment, Mobility, Electricity Among which: natural gasless neighborhoods, electric mobility and CO 2 -taxes IEA PVPS Task 1 Meeting, Caux, April 2019 8/4/2019 18

  21. Built environment IEA PVPS Task 1 Meeting, Caux, April 2019 8/4/2019 21

  22. FUTURE OF PV SYSTEMS IN THE NETHERLANDS The future looks sunny (as well as windy), because: 1. In 2030 70 percent of all electricity must be produced by renewables 2. In 2050 7 million households and 1 million utility buildings must be natural gasless 3. Mobility must be emissionless in 2050 4. There will be active governmental stimulation (in polder model) 5. Supportive regulations for local cooperatives of civilians IEA PVPS Task 1 Meeting, Caux, April 2019 8/4/2019 22
