As much as practicable, the Shire will: Consider buying practices, procedures and specifications that don’t unfairly disadvantage local businesses Consider indirect benefits that have flow on benefits for local suppliers Ensure that procurement plans address local business capability and local content Explore the capability of local businesses to meet requirements and ensure that Requests are designed to accommodate the capabilities of local businesses

Procurement Process Supplier sourcing (Quotations) Procurement Evaluation of Recommendation Invitation to planning Quotes/Tenders and award submit Offer (Tenders) • The Shire operated under a decentralised procurement model Procurement is undertaken with the support of the Procurement Officer • • Formal approvals are obtained from Council or under delegated authority
How we procure goods and services Request for Quotations: • Less than $15,000 (except if high risk) – 1 quote • Less than $50,000 (except if high risk) – 2 quotes • Less than $150,000 – 3 quotes (formal RFQ) • More than $150,000 (if exempted by Regulations) – 3 quotes (formal RFQ)
Purchasing Policy Updates Ability to create Shire Panels of Pre- Qualified Suppliers • permitted by LG Act • will be considered where there is an ongoing need for a particular good/service • must be publicly advertised • work allocated on ‘ranking’ basis and/or • all panel members invited to quote in each instance • e.g. trades / maintenance, plant hire, signage
