  5. Zoning Enforcement Cases 80 Active zoning enforcement cases in District 2 This includes violations such as Business Use of Residential Property, Outside Storage, Home Occupation Violations, Fence Violations, and some Inoperable Vehicle cases.

Housing Code Enforcement Violations 732 Housing code inspections conducted in District 2 since January 2019 These include properties reported to be in violation of the City’s Property Maintenance Code and include violations such as deteriorated roof systems, damaged windows or doors, chipped exterior paint, damaged or deteriorated facades, and inadequate utility service.

  7. Critical Repair Applications 16 Critical repair applications approved by the Community Development Department during the 2019 cycle within the following District 2 neighborhoods • Brown Springs (1) • Roebuck (6) • Eastwood (1) • South East Lake (7) • Huffman (1) The average cost for a Critical Repair Grant per home is $10,837. The smallest amount is $2,100 and the maximum amount is $15,000.

Weed Abatements 610 Lots cut or cleaned in District 2 since January 1, 2019 • 287 vacant lots cut by contractor • 323 weed lots abated/cleaned by owner or city staff There are 185 vacant properties active in the Weed Bill for District 2. These are properties that are either waiting to be put on a contractor list or still being processed.

Completed Projects The following public investment projects have been completed in District 2 • Hawkins Recreation Center: HVAC replaced in gym, added playground surface landing, tile replaced in lobby • Fire Station 26: Driveway replaced, kitchen hood upgraded, new gas range • Roebuck Springs Road Improvements: Improved drainage and widened Roebuck Springs Rd from Observatory Ln to Chestnut St. • Elder Street Sidewalk and Nature Trail: Connecting Montevallo Rd with Scenic View • Clairmont Walking Trail Phase II: ADA accessibility, sidewalks and signage to extend the walking trail (within median of Clairmont Ave from 50 th Pl S to the end of median near 13 th Ave S) as part of the Red Rock Trail System • Ruffner Mountain Connector Trail: ADA accessibility, sidewalks, signage, and bike share markings as a part of the Red Rock Trail System. Created loop in East Lake and tied into the Ruffner Park entrance; along 81st St S, 75th St S, 85th St S, 5th Ave N, and 2nd Ave S.
