  6. EHR Enhancements • Medication Module • Medical Summary Utility • Allergy Module • Quick View Documents • Patient Registry • Order Module/ Console • Alerts • Communication Component • New Workflow Module

  7. Medication Module • Drug to Condition Interaction includes SNOMED codes  Mapping behind the scenes will prevent duplicate alerts if the patient has both an ICD code and the equivalent SNOMED code  Interactions can be checked in the Medication Module and the Problems Module Medication Favorites- you can now save “Units” • Also added to the Copy Provider Favorites Utility • • There are some eRx window formatting changes  Bolded sections  Authentication section re-worded and disabled unless EPCS eligible pharmacy is selected

  8. Patient Savings Program Next Gen has partnered with LDM and is no longer using PDR for this service. When a prescription is printed or ePrescribed, data is sent to LDM in order • to determine if savings are available. If savings coupon exists, the results are returned to EHR, a code will display on RX Print, Fax and ERX and the code will be returned to the pharmacy Script Guides (education) can be printed with medications. This is similar • to the monograph feature although is it not replacing it. In the event that that pharmacy does not receive the code, the coupons • can be manually printed This service can be enable through NextGen Communication Services and • requires set up in Practice Preferences and User Preferences

  9. Medical Summary Utility (MSU) Enhancements • The ability to set Sensitive Data Exclusions for CCD/CCDA, exports for the Patient Portal, NG Share, EHR Connect and any other application that sends CCD/CCDA. These exclusions can be set for Medications, Diagnoses, Problems and Procedures. • The ability to associate a KBM referral order with a transaction when sent via direct messaging • Functionality that validates messages sent with a DIRECT address have actually been received has been added • Attachments for CCDA now include ICS Images

  10. Allergy Module • Allergy reactions now include SNOMED coded reasons • User can enter up to 5 reactions per allergy. The reactions can be edited, added/ removed and reordered • On a locked encounter the onset date, severity, reaction and comments can now be updated

  11. Quick View Quick View is a function that allows the user to preview items on the Master document as they enter the data • This is a hide and show function (similar to the Navigation Bar) • Quick View refreshes when the template is saved • This is a user preference, turned on/off from the View menu

  12. Patient Registry There will be a function to create a Patient Registry for items that need a follow up • Actions are based off of results from memorized reports • This can be used to follow up on Patient Portal messages, referrals from NG share, Population Health, and patient recall plans • Uses the EHR reporting tool • Outreach communication can be tracked • Registry can be generated offline • Accessed as a practice template, KBM version TBD

  13. Order Module Console Order enhancements for Labs and Radiology: 1. User can now modify the expiration date on Future/Recurring orders. Timeframes can be set in practice preferences. 2. Auto Release for Future/Recurring Orders can be set to auto send through a “set schedule” • There is a new application involved – Lab Auto Release • Requires configuration 3. Enhancements on Orders Console Practice Template • Filters can be set on Orders for Performing Entity, Provider, Location 4. Orders can be tasked to a user or group

  14. Alerts Major changes to the Alerts Template 1. An alerts screen will automatically open when a patient’s chart is opened 2. User can view EHR and PM Alerts 3. Important alerts can be set to view in red/bold font 4. Alerts can be flagged for acknowledgement by all users or by provider only 5. Hovering over the red Alerts button on the Patient Toolbar now previews the alerts (Similar to the Medications, Allergies and Problems on the Patient toolbar) 6. Medication Alerts can be added from the Alerts template. Any Medication Alerts added can be viewed in the Medication Module. 7. Old Alerts in the system will be moved to new formatting during upgrade 8. Practice alerts can be set in configuration 9. Comments can be added to alerts

  15. Communication Component This is a new communication function that incorporates many of the same concepts as the Telephone template. • The Communication “module” is actually a component field in the template editor. This will be added to a template in the in a future of version of the KBM • When actions are needed it integrates with other parts of EHR, i.e. refills/medication modules • Communication is divided by Call Type (i.e. Medication Management, Medical Question) • Specialized templates display based on communication Call Type • Can use My Phrases

  16. New Workflow Completely revamped Inbox! 1. The Workflow and PAQ are now combined into one “Provider Workbench” The PAQ functionality remains the same, it is just integrated into one area for • easier access 2. Clinical Tasking There are now tabs for inbox functions, i.e. PAQ, Tasks, Appointments, rather • than divided space on one page Users can filter tasks • When a user selects a task, the task will show side by side with the task details • and the patient’s demographics. Viewing this information is possible without opening the patient chart. 3. Appointments There are three different appointment views, Daily, Multi and Timeline • User can view individual appointments •

  22. Using Quick View Chief Complaint Annual Exam Annual Exam The patient states she uses abstinence for birth control. Her menses is with light flow. Positive for menorrhagia. The patient is not post-menopausal. Associated symptoms include history of infertility. Pertinent negatives include abnormal bleeding (hematology), anxiety, decreased libido, depression, difficulty falling sleep, dyspareunia, nocturia and sleep disturbances. She takes calcium supplements. She reports taking Vitamin D. She has not been exposed to passive smoke. She does not drink alcohol. Quick View Panel EHR Template
