Community Development • Highland Subdivision • 75 single family dwelling subdivision development with community parkland on Leitch Street. • Water Department installed 6" PVC water line through subdivision from Mary Street to Miller Road on Leitch Street. • 401 Business Park • 145 acres industrial or commercial land on the 401 Corridor. One parcel being developed.

  4. Community Development • Agris Solar Farm The Agris Solar Co-Op farm in Dutton is now up and running. It is located behind Dutton's sewage lagoons at the end of Shackleton Line. The farm is on 10 acres of property leased to Agris by the municipality and has 49 solar panels collecting power. The farm has the capacity to generate 500 kilowatts through the panels. • Land Acquisition • Purchased 173/177 Currie Road for future downtown development.

  5. Capital Projects Roads Department • Raised, tar and chipped Dunborough Road. • Repaving - Pioneer Line to Thomson Line (joint venture with West Elgin). • Raised, added drainage, tar and chipped Pioneer Line (Willey Road to Cowel Road). • Miller Road • New fence and gates at Landfill Site • New JCB Backhoe. Reconstruction • Replacement - small truck with small plow and sander. • In conjunction with the County, scope of work includes sewer system, road redesign and reconstruction, street-lighting, accessible sidewalks. • Benefitting 22 property owners for sewer connection. • Tactile curb cuts for accessibility. • Cost saving LED street lighting.

  6. Accessibility & Health and Safety • Corporate • Implemented Leisure Buddy Policy to provide inclusion for programs. • Repaired ramp, front entrance of Municipal Office. • Ensured contrasting colours were used in facility renovations to provide depth perception (paint, flooring, signage) at the Medical Centre and WEDS. • Adoption of Design of Public Spaces Policy. • • Municipal kitchen and flooring replaced to Dutton Community Pool address Health and Safety hazards. • Installed chair lift to provide access to pool. • Ball Diamond • New Scoreboard, size and colour chosen to include accessible standards. • Multi Use Accessible Trail • Existing Trail asphalted – incorporating new Design of Public Spaces Standard.

Community Improvements: • Downtown Banners & Planter Boxes • Winter, Spring & Remembrance Day Banners were purchased. • Planter boxes were made and stained. • The Horticultural Society provided stunning flower baskets and planters. • Soccer net was installed at fields to provide protection from balls going off the play area.

Financial Management, Grants and Funding Collection Improvements: • Tax Arrears for previous years $344,444 in 2014, Currently $261,903. • Introduced Pre-Authorized Payment for property taxes which helps residents to smooth out payments throughout the year and improves collection rates. • Decreased bank fees by eliminating credit cards.
