Cabrillo College Dental Hygiene Dan’s Story • Two year program: includes courses in Clinical Assessment, Tooth Morphology, Oral Health Education, Dental Materials, Oral Pathology, Dental Radiology, Local Anesthesia, Dental Radiographic Interpretation, Law & Ethics, Periodontics, and Community Oral Health. • The Dental Hygiene Clinic: o State of the art facility opened in Summer 2010. o 18 chair computer equipped main clinic. o 6 chair digitally equipped radiology clinic and panoramic unit. o Computerized patient appointment scheduling. o Dental software instruction and use.
Success in Learning: Sierra’s Story • Developed Inter-Dispensary Program with Nursing, Radiology Stroke and Disabilities Center • Reached out to 18 underserved communities • 42 students participated in conducting a research project for the National Institute of Health • 3 successful research projects completed and accepted for publication

Success in Progression of the Program Noel Kelsch: My Story • Raised the necessary funding to keep the program open • Added on additional full time temporary position starting September 2018 • Reached out to area Federally Qualified Health Centers developed a cooperative. They pay for faculty. We supply 2 nd year students. Freeing up TUs • Approved as Remediation School for all Schools in California • Approved to do outside rotations
Success in Progression of the Program • Raised fees to match a percentage of the industry (Average 20%) • Developed Inter-Dispensary Program with Medical Assisting, Nursing, Radiology Stroke and Disabilities Center, Physical Education • Developed a state of the art hands on Continuing Education program utilizing campus resources including support from Marketing, Extension, Facilities, IT • Marketing to all 50 States! Earning an average of $40,000 a course for Expanded duties course • Support: CTE and Workforce Development, Grant Department, Foundation Marketing
