Uniforms � I arrive at the clinic in my uniform � Clinic provides our gowns � Closed toed shoes
Infection control � I always have to wear safety glasses � Use of gloves
Sterilisation and Disinfection � Instruments are sterilised away from clinic. � I have a special instrument room at clinic � Green tracking sheet � Everything is covered in plastic
Patient appointment � I have a 1hour 15min appointment with patient � First appointment is exam and periodontal chart depending on patients CPITN score � 10 chairs, 5 in hygiene & 5 in therapy � Only at the clinic when we have a patient � I assist for 2 patients in the morning and operate for 2 patients in the afternoon � Clinical teachers check our work at every stage during treatment
Patient appointment � Qualifiers and Competencies � Titanium-record keeping � Use local anaesthetics before deep scaling and restorations in therapy � I don't use air flow at my clinic � I don't instruct my patient to use interdental brushes in their pockets only in between the interdental space. � You are only allowed to be treated at the clinic in Australia if you have a concession card and it’s free
What else our course involves � When I'm not at clinic: � Residential care facility-5 days � Bendigo Community Health � Orthodontics � Tooth whitening � 2 ½ year course including a summer semester- equivalent to 6 semesters
