Comments-I * 2019 has been a year with an increase seen in the number of yachts and races. 15 new yachts were added to the Turkish Offshore Racing Club (TORC) fleet and total of 188 races took place in Turkey throughout the year. * IRC is the main official rating rule system in Turkey and TORC is the Rule Authority for IRC System. IRC is represented by TORC since 1995. * The Turkish Offshore Racing Club Trophy consists of spring, summer and autumn races. It has been held for 49 years and is the most popular trophy of the Turkish Sailing Community. * This year, the trophy included 30 inshore and 4 offshore races. * During the season, there were also 20 one-design races for FARR 40s and MAT 10.10s. * 2020 will be the 50 th anniversary of the Turkish Offshore Racing Club Trophy. A full program of races, which will attract more international participation and celebration activities are planned. * Istanbul Sailing Club has organized total of 6 races in the sea of Marmara and approximately 40- 50 yachts joined each race.
Comments-II * Other race locations included Ce ş me/ İ zmir, Bodrum, Bursa/Mudanya, Gocek, Marmaris and Mersin. Different boats from many clubs of Bodrum, Izmir, Bursa and Marmaris participated. * The race season lasts 12 months in the west and southern Turkey. Winter trophies take place from January until May and it consists of 15-20 races over the course of 7- 8 weekends. * Local Yacht clubs encouraged many boat owners to join all races. TORC oversaw all of the race management. * Marmaris Week celebrates this year it’s 30th anniversary and is expected to attract more than 1100 sailors in 140 – 150 boats from different countries. * For the past 12 years, Marmaris International Yacht Club organizes the Channel Regatta Races along with Rhodes Yacht Club. * Gocek Yacht Club along with Gocek Regatta organizes 2 races per year ( In May and November). Average participation is usually about 50 yachts. * All these race locations are supported by TORC/UNCL’ trained measurers. In 2019 number of endorsed yacht by %72.
