Corporate Jet Pilot Compliance May – June, 2017 • Corporate jet operations accounted for 10% of the total jet operations at TPA for the reported period. • Corporate jet aircraft were 94% compliant with the Airport’s Voluntary Noise Abatement Program for the reported period. Casper Airport Solutions • Airport commenced a formal solicitation in February. • Two companies responded to the Airport’s solicitation. o Harris Corporation (incumbent) o Casper Airport Solutions • Casper solution is expected to provide an enhanced system from the one currently in use today with: o Improved user interface. o Improved analytics. o Opportunities to customize the application to maximize transparency and community awareness. June 26, 2017 Public Meeting • JDA Aviation Technology Solutions was hired by residents south of Runway 1R as a consultant regarding ongoing noise concerns. • Invitation was sent on June 19, 2017 for the CNC to attend this public meeting. • The public meeting with JDA was held on June 26, 2017. • JDA’s presentation and initial recommendations, as well as audio of the meeting is posted on the Airport’s website and may be accessed by visiting www.TampaAirport.com/noise-abatement and proceeding to the Community Noise Consortium (CNC) and Reports page. Metroplex (NextGen) – Key Facts • Congressional mandate to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to transform the National Airspace System. • Primary component is implementation of Performance Based Navigation (PBN), moving away from ground based navigation to satellite based navigation. • South-Central Florida implementation (including TPA) not expected for at least 24-36 months. • Majority of NextGen expected to be fully implemented by 2020. More to Come on Metroplex … • FAA is the agency implementing congressionally mandated modernization of the National Airspace System. • Airport last met with the FAA regarding Metroplex in February 2017. • The FAA advised the Airport in April that an internal FAA timeline for outreach and community engagement was being reevaluated. No further information has been provided. • Hillsborough County Aviation Authority is committed to: – Community engagement on Metroplex. – Making sure residents and stakeholders are involved in the process to the greatest extent possible allowed by the FAA. – We welcome the opportunity to engage with your HOA to help encourage your community to particpate in public FAA meetings, when they are scheduled.
