Structure of the coastal management manual The coastal management manual is divided into three main parts:
Part A - mandatory requirements and essential elements • When, where and how • Matters to be dealt with • Consultation requirements • Certification, adoption and gazettal • Review and replacement • Implementation of a CMP
Part B - Stages in developing a coastal management program The manual will incorporate a flexible process to recognise and ‘fast - track’ those councils with well-developed coastal management strategies, policies and practices
