Independent & holistic labelling system Clean Shipping Index is an independent & holistic labelling system of vessels' environmental performance; a practical tool for differentiating port- & fairway fees or choosing more sustainable shipping alternatives. What makes Clean Shipping Index unique? Scoring based on beyond regulatory compliance ● Holistic approach to emissions & pollution ● Stakeholder-wide governance ● Offers third party verification ● Technical Committee covering all environmental categories ● Used by the Swedish Government for differentiating fairway dues ● Currently 2400 vessels are registered in Clean Shipping Index.
Thorough methodology & scoring system Online questionnaire (25 questions) covering environmental performance of vessels ● Applicable on all type of vessels (tanker, container, cruise etc) ● Vessels are scored on five categories: ● 1. SO x 2. NO x 3. CO 2 4. Chemicals Note: 2400 vessels are 5. Water & waste registered in CSI and 9 vessels have achieved 30 points per category → 150 points max ● CSI Class 5 The process is entirely digital online ●
