Senior Year Timeline Fall 2020 College Essay Writing Workshop- TBA ● ● College Night - Cancelled for 2020 ● Paying for College (Financial Aid) Night - TBA ● FAFSA - October 1 is the first day you can file your FAFSA Begin or continue to complete college applications ● ○ Early Action : Apply earlier and receive a decision earlier (nonbinding) ○ Early Decision : You commit to enrolling in a certain college if you’re admitted. ● Submit applications by October 31st to selective colleges (U-M Ann Arbor, MSU). 2

Senior Year Timeline Winter 2021 ● College applications completed and submitted ● Complete the FAFSA online by the March 1 deadline. ■ FAFSA needs to be completed by all college bound students unless ALL expenses will be paid out of pocket by student or by scholarships ■ Many colleges will not consider freshmen for their scholarships unless a FAFSA has been submitted 3

NCAA Eligibility ● In order to be eligible to play NCAA Division I or II you will have to take specific classes and meet SAT/ACT GPA requirements ● You will need to set up an account at the NCAA Clearinghouse Center at www.eligibilitycenter.org and meet with your counselor ASAP ● NCAA Division III requirements are up to individual schools Other athletic associations also may have specific ● requirements for example the NAIA has a clearinghouse website at www.playnaia.org 15
