The focus on digital skills Hypothesis: Digital Literacy and Communications related initiatives are the major focus with a notable push on functional and technical skills Yet this leaves softer or fusion skills such as Digital Emotional Intelligence lagging behind, which we know to be a major gap in the UK (e.g. behaviours such as motivation, intellectual curiosity) Digital Rights should be taught alongside Digital Communications (general data awareness), with an opportunity to embed in existing initiatives 9
