Malta’s Commitment to Energy Efficiency The objectives of TO4 are: • the production and distribution of energy derived from renewable sources; • energy efficiency and renewable energy use Malta’s OP 2014 -2020 TO4 is in enterprises; “ Shifting towards a low-carbon economy ” • energy efficiency, smart energy management and renewable energy use in public infrastructure, including in public buildings, and in the housing sector.
Valletta – Focus for Energy Transition As Malta’s capital city, Valletta was chosen by Paragon Europe as the main focus in which pilot activities on energy transition will be carried out The city has embarked in a transition process to become a smart sustainable city, strongly convinced that this is the right answer to the challenges it must address.

Putting Energy Transition into Practice (3) Mobilisation of leading organisations, entrepreneurs and investing in start-ups • Since Aug 2016 Paragon Europe has contributed towards: – 72 concrete ideas for addressing climate change challenges – Supported 14 Maltese and international pioneers to explore and work on sustainable energy related projects – Supported 13 start-ups through the accelerator programme – Mobilised more than 150 European-based organisations and networks on sustainable energy, circular economy and climate change – Engaged with more than 1.5 million persons through social media, publications and fora with features, articles and presentations on sustainable energy matters and climate change issues
