Chinese Poli(cs and Society, June 22.-July 5. 2017 - The summer course Chinese Poli+cs and Society is an intensive two-week course at Nordic Centre, Fudan University. Nordic Centre is a collabora>on between Fudan University and 25 Nordic universi>es, and facilitates coopera>on within educa>on, research, and culture. - The course provides students with fundamental knowledge about Chinaˈs poli>cal landscape from the founding of the People's Republic in 1949 >ll today, and it gives students insight into China‘s role both locally and globally - The course is intended for BA-level students with liUle or no previous knowledge about China. - The course is taught in English by Chinese and Nordic teachers, and students who apply for the course must therefore have a good command of both wriUen and spoken English. - Another course, Doing Business in China , is also offered (MA-course, dates are July 7-20, 2017) www.nordiccentre.net

Cost and Accommoda(on - The par>cipa>on fee for this course is only RMB 800, to be paid in cash upon arrival in China. The reason for the low fee is Nordic Centre funding, which is based on annual membership fees for the par>cipa>ng universi>es. - Students will cover travel expenses, accommoda>on, medical insurance, and subsistence costs themselves (or with help from their home universi>es). A few meals will be covered by the Nordic Centre during the two weeks. - Some accommoda>on op>ons: - Tohee (www.tohee.com) - approx. RMB 130 per night. - Holiday Inn Wujiaochang - approx. RMB 341 per night for a twin room. - Blue Mountain Bund Youth Hostel (subway: East Nanjing Road) - approx. RMB 133 per night for a bed in 4 person dorm. www.nordiccentre.net
