Students should be in school daily because…... Every day missed is two days of being behind their peers because a student must make up for missed learning and also has to catch up with new learning at the same time. Every day students are in school, they raise their chances to score well on tests, which could lead to better opportunities for college admission and scholarships. School is also where children learn to socialize and practice skills such as leadership, problem-solving and goal-setting, which can help them throughout their lives. School attendance is a baseline factor in determining student success. If you are facing a situation that prevents you from attending school on a regular basis, we encourage you to contact the school for assistance and support. 14

Automatic Phone Calls The Automatic System is programmed to call the student’s home twice a day, once at lunch and once in the evening, to report absences. It is intended as a courtesy only.
