Scope of Project & Goals What is The Project? The project goal is to create a long-term master plan for park improvements for Coronado Cays Park.
Scope of Project & Goals What is a Master Plan? • ‘Big Picture’ concept • Sets a consistent landscape theme / treatment • Serves as a consistent map for future projects • Identifies specific projects • Aids in prioritizing projects / budget • Recognizes current and potential constraints What it is not… • It is not a construction document…it is an overall concept / guide • Should not be completely inflexible
Scope of Project & Goals Why is This Needed? The current park is highly utilized and shows signs of normal ‘wear and tear’. The City wishes to assess community needs and establish a plan of action to upgrade park features according to these needs.
Scope of Project & Goals How Will This be Achieved? This workshop is the first step to: • Seek community input • Assess existing park amenities and conditions • Based on the above, develop 3 schematic Master Plan alternatives for community feedback • Use feedback to distill the 3 alternatives into 1 comprehensive design for review and comment • Provide a final design and phasing plan
