FOCUS OF THE NURSE EDUCATOR ROLE TO ORGANISE / DELIVER / FACILITATE EDUCATION TO SUPPORT SAFE CARE CLOSER TO HOME WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE PRINCIPAL TREATMENT CENTRE
HOW THE ROLE IS ‘SHAPING UP’ IN THE NORTH? • Leeds PTC hosts my honorary contract • Skills/knowledge development • Developing key contacts in the Shared care units and community nursing teams 5
HOW THE ROLE IS ‘SHAPING UP’ IN THE NORTH? • Organising update sessions in the SCU/CCN • Delivering training for the Telephone Triage Toolkit at PTC • Raising awareness of CLIC Sargent resources to CYP, families and staff • “Outreach Information Resource” 6
FUTURE PLANS • Develop links with other PTC in the North • Evaluate the Nurse Educator role • Develop more Nurse Educator posts in the UK • Two by 2017/18: West Midlands/Wales and South West 7
