9 The Differentiator: Common Use Rail Facility Operational in 2016 • Winnipeg is the only major Canadian city on the prairies that is served by three continental class 1 railways: CN, CP and BNSF. All three have access to CentrePort. • Conceptual design work has been completed for an on-site common use rail facility which will allow rail intensive businesses to access three class one carriers from a single location.

In 2012, two-way truck traffic at the Emerson- Pembina border crossing totaled $19 billion – making it the busiest in Western Canada. • CentrePort Canada Way, a $212.4 million expressway, opened in November 2013. An additional $800 million in associated highway infrastructure has recently been announced including the doubling of CentrePort Canada Way to include a by-pass of Headingley. Facility will draw from Assiniboine River, serving CentrePort & neighbouring municipalities. • Headingley plant will offer 150 L/s, complementing St. Eustache’s 60 L/s. Wastewater • Winnipeg & Rosser agreement in principle to extend wastewater to Rosser. • Winnipeg to extend sewer mainline to Rosser; Rosser and area businesses pay to hook up.
