OSSLT DEFINITIONS OSSLT - Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test - All students who wish to graduate with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (O.S.S.D.) must complete their literacy requirement either through the OSSLT or the OLC (Ontario Literacy Course) First-Time Eligible (F.T.E.) - Students in Grade 10 writing the OSSLT for the first-time - This is the larger group of students writing the OSSLT (292 wrote in 2017/2018) Previously Eligible (P.E.) - Students OLDER than Grade 10 who have either written or NOT written the OSSLT - This is smaller group of students writing the OSSLT (84 wrote in 2016/2017) Deferred - Students who are not ready to write and moved to the following year Exempted - Students not writing the OSSLT and NOT working towards an OSSD
BOSS OSSLT Results - April 2018 Last year, 92% of FTE students who wrote the OSSLT at BOSS met or exceeded the provincial standard.
