BGSU’s Context Women and faculty of color are underrepresented in STEM applicant pools and hires relative to available doctoral pool Women and faculty of color are not promoted to full professor or leadership positions at an equitable rate Women and faculty of color experience implicit and explicit gender and racial biases, both individually and in their intersection

Faculty Allyship Activities January 2019 Initial half-day workshop on how to recognize Incentives to participate: and confront bias and promote inclusion • $1,000 PD funds for workshop (1-3 faculty and chairs from each unit) Spring 2019 Competitive selection of 12 faculty peer attendees and peer facilitators facilitators drawn from January workshop • Certificate of ally training for participants attendees who also complete 4 Orientation workshops for peer facilitators of 8 online modules Fall 2019 Workshops on ally building and bias intervention for STEM faculty (4-5+ faculty per unit) • Gain knowledge and tools Spring 2020 Online training modules and certificate program needed to be an effective ally to Orientation workshops for peer facilitators combat bias and promote gender equity Fall 2020 Workshops on ally building and bias intervention for SBS faculty (4-5+ faculty per unit) Online training modules and certificate program Spring 2021 Online training modules and certificate program Regional conference on inclusive leadership and faculty ally building
