  2. What is Better Start Imagine?  It’s a FREE book gifting scheme, funded by Better Start Bradford and is part of the International Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.  Each month a new book will be delivered through the post, this has been carefully selected and designed for the age of the child.  The project will provide a book for you to share and enjoy until your child’s fourth birthday as well as groups and activities to promote book sharing with young children.  It is for babies born in or after 2016, living in the Better Start Bradford areas

  3. Background  Dolly Parton was one of 11 siblings  The family had just enough money to eat and buy clothes. There were no extras. There were no books in her house.  Dolly is quick to tell you that although her father was one of the most hard- working and intelligent men she’s ever known, his inability to read was her inspiration for Imagination Library.  It was set up in 1995 to benefit the children of her home county in East Tennessee, USA  From the year 2000 Dolly announced that she would make the program available for replication to any community that was willing to partner with her to support it locally.
