CURRICULUM Students choose 1 of 3 arts majors upon enrollment: ▪ Visual Arts ▪ Theatre Arts ▪ Culinary Arts Students spend 20% of their high school career immersed in their art College preparatory curriculum required for all students No electives All courses required
VISUAL The Visual Arts program exposes students to various media and the deeper theories behind art making, art history, contemporary art practice, experimentation and innovation. THEATRE Theatre students investigate this art through experiences in performance, evaluation, study, analysis and the creative process. CULINARY The Culinary program immerses the student in an intense experience exploring both classical and modern techniques of cooking and baking as well as theories of food and restaurant management .
SPECIAL EDUCATION ● Services provided following “push in” approach whenever possible-inclusive model with special educator co-teaching. ● Each student with an IEP is assigned to a Special Educator/ Case Manager. ● Local Advisory Committee meets monthly-typically first Tuesday of each month.

STATE TESTING • Beacon participates in mandated state testing and supports our student artists as they prepare for these assessments • Student artists buy into intensive academics because we allow them to be immersed in their passion 20% of their academic careers
A DAY IN THE LIFE • School runs 8:00am to 2:35pm • Sixty-five minute academic blocks • Daily IDEA block for Intervention, Discussion, Enrichment, and Achievement • Advisories
TRANSPORTATION/LUNCH ● Busing available for residents of Burrillville, North Smithfield, Cumberland, and upper Diamond Hill in Woonsocket ● RIPTA bus stop down the street from the school ● Beacon participates in Federal School Lunch Program ● Wide variety of after school activities
