Co Comp mpon onent t 1/ 1/ A level Drama (Year 1) Devising (40%) Sept – Jan: 1. History of modern drama via 7 plays 2. Exploration of 5 modern practitioners include Berkoff, Kneehigh, Frantic Assembly, Katie Mitchell 3. Exploration of 4 potential texts for C1 using practitioner ideas Jan – end of April: Devising from 1 scene from 1 play using the ideas of 1 practitioner. Internally marked/ 40%/ assessed through performance and portfolio
Component 2: Text in Performance (Yr 2) * Group performance of one key, extended extract from a performance text, (max 60 minutes in length) * Monologue or duologue performance of one key extract from a different performance text . Component 3: Theatre makers in Practise (Yr 2) Written exam (first examination Summer 2018) in 3 Sections: * Play review * A modern play studied as a performer/ designer * Classic play studied and interpreted as a director
